Truss Rod Inserts for Fretboard Radius Jig
Add precision and versatility to your builds with our Truss Rod Inserts, designed specifically for use with our Fretboard Radius Jig. These inserts lock the router base in a fixed, centered position—making it easy to rout clean, straight truss rod slots.
Note: The Fretboard Radius Jig is not included.
Important Compatibility Note:
If your current router base does not have the brass insert shown in the image below, you have an older version that is not compatible with these Truss Rod Inserts.
We’ve got you covered—just contact us after purchasing the inserts, and we’ll include a free updated router base with your order.
Instructions:
For best results, we recommend using the Amana 46202-K router bit. If additional reach is needed, a high-quality router extension adapter can be used—but beware of cheaper extensions, as they can introduce runout and affect accuracy.
- Cut 1/2" MDF board 36" long by 4.5" wide
- Draw a centerline on the MDF to help align your neck center
- Center fretboard on MDF and secure it using double sided tape
-
Slide the M5 x 20 mm screws included in package through the hole of the mounting block on the truss rod insert
-
Align the insert hole with the brass insert located on the center of the router base
-
Secure the truss rod inserts to both sides of the router base using a 3mm allen key
-
Insert the Truss Rod inserts into the slots on the radius jig
- Tighten set screws on the side of the radius jig to secure the inserts
